I, _________________________HEREBY WAIVE AND RELEASE, indemnify, hold harmless and forever discharge the Manistee County Road Commission, Manistee County, Onekama Township, Central Michigan University’s Longboarding Club Red Cup Shred, Michigan Downhill & Action Board Shop, Portage Lake Association and their respective agents, employees and officers, as well as residents and property owners of Portage Ridge, (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, debts, contracts, expenses, causes of action, lawsuits, damages and liabilities, of every kind or nature, whether known or unknown, at law or in equity, that I have or may have, arising from or in any way related to any of the events or activities, including camping, conducted in connection with the 2nd Annual Rage at The Ridge downhill longboarding race, taking place in Onekama, Michigan on April 26th and 27th (the “Event”).  I understand that the activities that I will participate in are inherently dangerous and may cause harm or grievous injuries, including bodily injury, damage to personal property and/or death. On behalf of myself or my heirs, assigns and next of kin, I waive all claims that I may have against the Indemnified Parties related to my death, personal injury, or any property damage that I may sustain in connection with the Event.  I also assume all responsibility for personal injury or property damage sustained by any third party that is attributable to my actions in connection with the Event.

 

I sign this waiver on my own accord and under no duress or threat of duress, without inducement, or harassment. I certify that I am at least 18 years of age and am legally authorized to sign this waiver on my own behalf. I also understand that by signing this waiver I am relinquishing all present and future rights to seek damages against the Indemnified Parties for any personal injury, death, or property damage that I may sustain in connection with the Event.
